Paros is best known for its great beaches, lively nightlife, and wonderful white-washed towns. It is often described as the perfect mix of Mykonos (trendy clubs and
restaurants) and Naxos (fantastic beaches and authentic inland villages).

Getting to Paros, we took a ferry from Milos and opted for a slightly cheaper ferry option; however, it did take twice as long as the fast ferry option would. Once we arrived at the port we were planning to take the local bus however these came every 30mins and every hour past 6pm so since we arrived slightly later we had to hail a taxi (which proved slightly challenging). So look to book a taxi or car rental in advance.

We stayed in Naousa which is one of the port towns, and where the famous seaside restaurants and bars are.

We rented an ATV for one of the days which allowed us to trip around to all the beaches that were a bit far from our accommodation.

Unfortunately, our time here was short, but Paros is a good time, especially if you're looking for a cheaper party alternative to Mykonos.

WHERE TO EAT IN

Mediterraneo – slightly different to your authentic Greek food, with more of a Mediterranean twist we shared the pork belly and mushroom, rocket risotto

Magaya Restaurant & Beach Bar - this was our favourite meal, it is a Mexican fusion restaurant with sharing platters, and fresh seafood – perfect to watch the sunset and sip on a cocktail.

Gialo Paros - Right next to Piso Livadi is a small fishing port, we stopped in here and had amazing fresh fish as well as handmade falafel.

Restaurants at the marina - unfortunately we didn't dine at any restaurants along the marina as they were either relatively pricey or too busy to seat us.

Taverna Glafkos - We didn't eat here but it's a great place to have a few drinks in the sun leading into the night.

WHAT TO DO

Rent an ATV - renting an ATV and checking out all the smaller towns and beaches was nice and a good way to kill time.

Go shop to shop in Naousa port - Paros has some cool shops along the port, although out of our price range, we did see lots of greek fashion designed clothes.

Going Out - Paros is known for its nightlife, enjoy some drinks by the water as the sunsets and see where the night takes you.

BEACHES TO VISIT

Kalogeros Beach - this is a cool clay beach where people were putting the natural clay on their skin and let it dry, before washing it off.

Piso Livadi - there is a small beach below a monastery that had the most amazing clear water. We got a bit wet when it turned high tide, but was our favourite spot to relax while we were here.

Kolimpithres – this is more of a collection of beaches where you can rent day beds, or find a spot amongst the crowds on the smaller beaches. The water is shallow, crystal clear water and super warm.
